Mikhail Gorbachev and the end of Communism

The end of Communism was that Mikhail Gorbachev had actually let the people decide instead of him deciding. He opened the Union by something called a glasnost . It was something that encouraged the people to discuss the various ways to improve their society. They modernized it by allowing churches to reopen they released their ancestors and descendants from prison and also they had the reporters investigate their social and economic problems. But Gorbachev only solved the political system but the economy was still messed up. Perestroik resolved the economic system it made it a better way to live.

Creation of Israel

The creation of Israel was because of two nations Palestine and Israel they had conflicts between their religion because the Palestine were Arab and the Israel are Jewish so that is they had conflicts between each other. And also because of Zionismit was the rise of the holy land.

Nelson Mandela and Apartheid

Apartheid means to be segregated between two races, one race claiming they are superior than the other. Nelson Mandela was a man who wanted all races to live in harmony together. He spoke for those who were dealing with apartheid and he had done many non-violent acts through strikes, civil disobedience, and demonstrations. It is bold of Nelson because Africa was ruled under the whites for almost three and a half centuries and they can have a voice. Many authors admire him because of his courage. He dealt with the apartheid government system but yet he struggled and was a warrior at this time. He was the Africa's hope. At the end, he was chosen to be the president of South Africa and was awarded with a Nobel Peace Prize. Now, apartheid has been outlawed and people of South Africa is no longer ruled. Everyone now has the equal opportunities. Authors admire his triumph and struggle throughout all the years. I admire his ambition of freeing his country from whites. They no longer have to be thrown in jail for drinking the wrong water fountain or using the other bathrooms.

african independence

African began going from colonies to country's in 1955. In 1975 more thn half of african became a country.Between the two world wars, an educated middle class had begun to emerge in African cities. Some African Americans such as W. E. B. Du Bois as well as by older Africans like Blaise Diagne, who organized Pan-African congresses in 1919 and 1921. One of the movement’s leaders, Leopold Senghor became the first president of Senegal. African soldiers in World War II fought with Europeans to defend freedom. The postwar world changed the thinking of Europeans too. They began to question the cost of maintaining their colonies abroad.

Neolithic Revolution

The Neolithic Revolution was a period a long time ago when the hunter-gatherers learned how to grow food and how to domesticate animals. This development led to the decline of nomadism and led to the early stages of civilization. People could now live in one area and not have to chase animals around and search for food. They could now tame animals such as cows and pigs. They could also grow crops, have an abundance of food, and have their food nearby. The Neolithic Revolution allowed the human race to build civilizations and has laid the foundation for the civilizations we have today.

Europian Union

The European Union was when the European leaders wanted peace and union in their countries. The twenty five nations wanted to change the society of Europe. I think it is a good thing because it made a powerful nation in the world. Also the European Union has a strong economic and political nation. It was also a good thing because people that lived in the European Union could work in the nation. These are the successfulness of the European Union

film l

The US and the USSR were competing to first see who could break the sound barrier and the who could get the first man on space. The Russians however were winning, this could be because they had better scientists because the scientists in america just were not hittig it, they kept failing to make the right kind of spaceship , one that would not blow up as soon as it went up a couple inches. This could have prolonged america winning. Some of the scences that will help me to remeber the cold war event would be the funny scences with the monkeys and the Outrages tests they had to undergo in order to qualify to go into space.

Schindler list

The way Schindler's did the holocaust was weird becuae he was helping at the same time giving them hope. The most powerful scene was when they started to kill Jews outta nowhere and pu them naked in the gas chamber pretending to make them get a shower but the did get it and the got burn to so no evidence would show. And then the ashes of the burning people was falling like it was snowing that was crazy.

pearl harbor

I agree that the US bombing on Japan should be the #1 news story of the century because for alot reason. We were the first country to use chemical weapons and we are the one's that are trying to stop these other countries to stop making bombs becuase the Us is afraid that they might use it against us. And it also ended WWII.
